Native American Indians painting of indians camping, oil on canvas by John Terelak. This painting depicts Native American Indians camping in the woods near a lake side on a sunny afternoon. This well executed painting measures 53 by 78 inches inside its original frame that measures 82 and one half inches by 58 inches.John Charles Terelak is recognized as one of America's finest living impressionists. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he received formal art instruction at the Vesper George School of Fine Art. Terelak's love of paint and canvas and his thorough understanding of color theory and paint technique eventually led him to become Headmaster of the Gloucester Academy of Fine Art. He is also a past President of The New England Watercolor Society. His paintings are included in thousands of private and public collections throughout the United States. Included are the Andrew Mellon Foundation, Sheraton Corporation, Winthrop Financial Corporation, Prudential Insurance Company, Bank of Boston, Shawmut Bank, State Street Bank, Boston, and Sterling-Regal Publishing Company.Mr. Terelak's private collectors are many prominent persons from the business world, the entertainment and sports industries, and the art community itself. ** By the consignor's request the price of this item has been reduced from $18000 **

Robert and Bernice Leekya Zuni jewelry belt buckle, featuring three large natural Kingman Turquoise nuggets mounted in 14k yellow gold. Robert Leekya's work in gold is extremely rare. This heavy, solid 14k gold belt buckle measures 2 and three quarter inches by 3 and one half inches. Robert Leekya is the son of famous fetish carver Leekya Deyuse. When his children entered school, Mr. Deyuse requested that they take his first name as their surname. All of his children (Alice, Sarah, Elizabeth, Robert and Roger) did so. Robert and his brother Roger and sister Elizabeth became silversmiths. His sisters Alice Leekya Homer and Sarah Leekya (Homer) are known as fetish carvers. Native American Indian Chief carved wood sculpture. This is a wonderful well executed carving of an Indian Tribal Chief with full feather head dress. This sculpture was purchase on a reservation in the 1960 to 1970's. Measures 30 inches high by 16 inches wide and 7 inches deep. Hand carved by a master carver from a sold block of wood. Excellent condition and detail.
